'Map of the Colony of Natal [now Kwazulu/Natal province, South Africa]': three copies: (1-4) a single copy on four separate sheets; (5-6) two copies, each comprising four joined sheets. All except item (6) show hill-shading. Reference tables to distances on items (2, 5-6) and to conventional signs on items (3, 5-6). Scale: 1 inch to 4 miles. Surveyed by Captain Grantham, Royal Engineers, Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, 1861; additions from the Surveyor General's Office, Natal; outline by T Kips; hills by W Wagner; lithographed at the Topographical Department, War Office, 1863. Dimensions: (1-2) each 150 cm x 120 cm; (3-6) each 100 cm x 69 cm. |
