Medical and surgical journal of the Henry convict ship, for 2 August 1824 to 1 March 1825 by B Carlyle, Surgeon and Superintendent, during which time the said ship was employed in transporting female prisoners to Van Diemen's Land and New South Wales. (This journal comprises 28 folios many of which are faint and illegible).

Folio 1: 15 September 1824, Woolwich. Several slight cases of intestinal derangement in the last week amongst the women.

Folios 1-4, 5, 9: William Lugg, aged 5, Convict's son; disease or hurt, febrile symptoms, headache with irritability of stomach and a feeling of oppression at the pericordia. Put on sick list, 15 September 1824. Discharged, 7 October 1824.

Folio 2: 16 September 1824, vaccinated four women and seven children, all who had not had either variola or cowpock, and prevented as much as possible all communication with the hospital.

Folio 3: 21 September 1824, repeated the vaccination since it was unsuccessful in all cases.

Folio 4: Margaret Horn, aged 30, Prisoner; disease or hurt, partial dislocation [...] of the right malleolus
