Appellant: John Forster of 5 New City Chambers, Bishopsgate St, City of London, African merchant, owner of the late brig Thomas Snook and her cargo, and on behalf of her master and crew. Respondent: John Brewer esq, of 36 Bedford Place, Russell Sq, Middx, Richard Pentreath, gent, of 42 Eastcheap, London, and Nicholas Pentreath, master mariner, of Cornwall, owners of the ship City of Carlisle and her cargo. Subject: Collision between said vessels on 30 June 1862. Lower Court: High Court of Admiralty of England.
