Description:

Reports made on a weekly basis of the activities of the following Huts at the Government Code and Cypher School at Bletchley Park:

  • Hut 3 - This hut housed the main reporting section, they translated and compiled the intelligence reports.
  • Hut 6 - This Hut was the one housing the Enigma processing machinery for German Army and Air Force messages, which were then passed to Hut 3 for translation and reporting.
  • Hut 8 - This Hut was the naval equivalent of Hut 6, and processed Enigma messages produced by the German Navy, which were passed to Hut 4 for translation and reporting.
  • Block C - Hollerith Machine Tabulating Section under Fredric Freeborn (moved from Hut 7).
  • Naval Section - passed intelligence and traffic analysis to the Admiralty.
  • Cryptographic Co-ordination and Records Section.
