PUJOL GARCIA was the celebrated wartime MI5 double cross agent whose channel to the Abwehr was used for the purposes of strategic deception, significantly with regard to D Day. The file documents the progressive development of the GARBO sub-agent 'network' and of schemes to convey disinformation to the enemy. After D Day the security of the GARBO network was threatened by defections from Abwehr ranks and consequently various ingenious contingency plans were drawn up by the case officer, Thomas HARRIS, in readiness
