Letter (enclosure sent to Commodore Tordenskiold at Stavarn) giving an account of the concentration of Swedish military forces 'with Gottenburg' (upwards of 12,000 men [under Charles XII]) and at Schonen are reported to be an army (of 100,000 men) recruited by Vanneland's Grenadiers. Commander Guldenhelm is"said to be out" with ten frigates (of 60 guns) and to have taken 14 Danish [merchant] ships laden with wine, salt, powder (and other goods convenient for war). |
