Description:

Steve NELSON, alias FLEISBINGER. Born in Yugoslavia, Nelson arrived in the USA in 1920. An active communist, he attended the Lenin School in Moscow in the 1930s and spent time working for the Comintern in Shanghai. He also served in the International Brigade in Spain. In 1943 it was established that he was working for Soviet Intelligence, acting as a channel for atomic information. In 1953 he was charged with advocating the overthrow of the US Government by force
