Crime: Stealing £7 in money from Charles Cossins of Fleet Street, London, (a waiter) near Temple Bar, London on 5 April 1833. Initial sentence: Seven years transportation. Gaoler's report: Not known before. Annotated: Nil. Petitioner(s): Charles Cossins (prosecutor). Grounds for clemency: Evidence adduced at the trial led the prosecutor to believe the convict was innocent of the offence. The convict's sister (a dress-maker) offers to receive the convict, if liberated, and to teach her her trade. |
