Custodial history: These records, which relate to the unofficial business of court officers, are not officially records of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury or Doctors' Commons. It is likely that they have become confused at some point with official records, and were therefore transferred to the Court of Probate, and in 1874 to the Probate, Divorce and Admiralty Division of the High Court.
Publication note:

For report of the commissioners for examining into the duties of officers of the courts of justice see Sessional Papers, House of Commons 18 June 1823, 462 For report by commissioners appointed to inquire into the practice and jurisdiction of the ecclesiastical courts, which provides a description of the procedures of the court, see Sessional Papers, House of Commons 27 February 1832, 199
