This series consists of a single volume of transcripts of letters and papers relating to the Gunpowder Plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605.

These transcripts were assembled and certified as correct by A J Horwood, an inspector of the Historical Manuscripts Commission.

A copy of A J Horwood's report upon them to the commissioners is bound with the transcripts at the front of the volume.
