William Paisley EARSMAN: Scottish. EARSMAN emigrated to Australia from where in 1921 he was a communist delegate to the Third International in Moscow. Remaining in the USSR, EARSMAN worked as a teacher at the Military Academy until 1924 when he returned to Scotland. There he was employed by Arcos, the Soviet trade organization, and attracted attention trying to obtain information at Vickers, Barrow-in-Furness
