Lewis Berrington Payne JONES: German, formerly British. He was a member of ''The Link'', the Anglo-German Friendship Society, in 1939 and went to Germany in the same year. He stayed in Germany on the outbreak of war, was not interned and worked for the German Foreign Broadcasting Service as a reader of news items and talks in 1943-1944. After his arrest in April 1945 he claimed to have adopted German nationality in 1939 and he was therefore not prosecuted
