Description:

Gerald Percy Sandys HEWITT, alias M. SMITH: a teacher in Paris from 1931 onwards, in 1938-1939 he contributed articles to the British Union of Fascists' weekly paper, 'Action'. From 1942 to 1944 he broadcast and wrote radio scripts for the Germans in Paris. In September 1944 he was arrested in France, having been expelled from Switzerland. He was later tried and in March 1945 he was sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment
