The Overseas Information Unit was a part of the Statistics Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food dealing with overseas food production, supply and prices information, balance of payments questions and related matters. It became part of Statistics Division II when it was created in 1965, though the functions transferred to Division I before both divisions were renamed in 1986, when international statistics functions moved to the Statistics (Agricultural Commodities) Division.
