Content: Folio 425. Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to J Rees-Mogg [John Rees-Mogg] and W Rees-Mogg [William Rees-Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, acknowledging their letter of 30 March 1847 which enclosed the medical officer's recommended middle and low diet for sick inmates of the workhouse. They have no objections but ask that the medical officer should write clearly against each patient's name which diet is pertinent so as to give the master authority for the charge of provisions in his accounts.
