[Continued from MH 12/14016/] Printed document marked no 2, titled 'Orders, Byelaws, and Regulations to be observed and enforced at the Poor-House' refers to laws passed by authority of an Act of Parliament at a petty sessions at Kidderminster Guildhall, by James Newcombe, Bailiff, and Joseph Newcombe, Justice, dated 20 October 1809. It contains rules about the responsibilities of the governor relating to employment of inmates in the workhouse, regulated working hours, cleanliness, discouraging vice and idleness, punishments, separate 'apartments' for the sick, accounts for household goods, supervision, deaths, control of visitors and alcohol, attending 'divine service' and dismissal of inmates.
