In addition each entry bears a cross-reference to the number of the appropriate regional register which provide more detailed information. |

The Central Land Board was empowered by the Town and Country Planning Act 1947 to assess and collect a Development Charge when the grant of permission to develop land and buildings resulted in an increase in value. Disputes over the determination by the Board of development values of land were referred to the Lands Tribunal under the Lands Tribunal Act 1949. |
