This series comprises Lord Steward's Department entry books covering a number of aspects of the administration of the royal gardens from 1796 to 1817. The properties at this period included Hampton Court, Kew, Kensington, St James', Carlton House, Brighton Pavilion and Windsor. The records include copy letters concerning works (sometimes with plans), maintenance, and accounting matters; abstracts of contracts; and accounts and other financial details for services and equipment, wages and allowances.
