Description: |
Folios 708-709. Letter from Samuel Sparrow of South Lambeth [Surrey] asking Evan Nepean [under-secretary] for confirmation that his appointment as 'one of His Majesty's Counsel for Cape Breton' [Nova Scotia] should exempt him from parochial and militia duties when in England. Sparrow states that he could save Government half a million pounds a year but that he had not pushed himself forward as 'projectors' were so badly thought of. |
