Folios 157-160. Letter from J J Blandy, Mayor of Reading, [Berkshire], enclosing two handbills issued under the direction of the town magistrates. These were to ask people to sign up as special constable to combat the recent riots and disturbances. He complains only a small number have signed up. He warns of the local dissatisfaction of much of the population and recommends a small military force should be made available.
