Catalogue description Two sermons by Mr. Mead, one with a text from Psalms, "I said this in my infirmity" and one with a text from Ecclesiastes, "Remember now thy maker in the days of thy youth"; the second was preached on 1 May 1699 and was one of the series of "May Day Lectures" instituted by Matthew Mead, the second minister of Stepney Meeting, which were preached outdoors to young people annually from 1674 - 1958.
