Title: Sessions. JP. Crewkerne. Merriott.
Description:

Petition of Mary BRAGG and her base born child. For five years John LAWRENCE, of Merriott, did make great affection to the petitioner. He promised to make her his wife. Mary had yielded to his lust; and bore him a son. Since then John LAWRENCE has not come to Mary, either to marry her or to give maintenance for herself and her child. The petitioner has lost hereby the love of all her friends; to the utter ruin of herself and the child. Asks that John LAWRENCE be compelled to marry her, according to his former vows; and in the meantime allow her sufficient maintenance for herself and child.
