Description:

Grantham, Newby [Park] to Fritz

Lord Graham's Journals, much amused by them, took fright initially at the "Journal of a Lord G ".

Account of the Hobart's very good, as well they don't end like the Farrett's.

Glad of good account of Lady Harris. Despairs of Mrs. Walpole. Asks for news of Lady Chatham.

Fancies Lord North's speech the best he has given since being in his present situation.

Put old Fan light from the Gallery door in the back passage, lighter and airier. Update on garden. Oaks etc.. Little Carr looking thin, improved by hedge in high fields etc.. Walked to Balderby Style and along new road. Strawberries and cream today, also curds and blancmange by Betty Smith. Renard confesses it the best ever made.

Book and Prints arrived. Black box expected tomorrow.

Mr. Ellis brought his balance of £100. Other financial matters. Folkestone. Delapierre mentioned.

Sir Norton much broke, Mrs. Eliza [his sister] also. Mrs. [Mary] Peirse [another sister] says she conceals an intestinal complaint.

Church very full yesterday, saw neighbours and Ramshaw's School. Young Norton there but not Master Sanderson. Mrs. Waddilove's today. Children well behaved. Tom [Waddilove] a fine boy etc.. The girl very beautiful.

Went to Mr. Taylor's to swear to the Committee Accouns which Wilmot sent.

Letter from Munro.

Doesn't wonder Tom [Pelham's?] wandering not liked, nor his liking it.
