Born Rastrick 1821. Died Harrogate 10 Mar 1904.

 

Residence -Kirkroyd, St. Marys Walk (Formerly The Esplanade). Brought up for commercial pursuits but determined to study art and became a designer. Studied at Leighs Academy, London, then Coutures Academy Paris & spent several years in Rome. Travelled extensively painting and sketching all over Europe. Was founder of the Harrogate Liberal Club and a member of Ripon Div. Association. He was married with 1 son Fred Holroyd (who was also married & 2 sons mentionned at the funeral). Also 1 cousin J.T. Holroyd.
