The home was bought in 1986 from the trustees of the Society of All Saints Sisters of the Poor, having been leased by the Council since 1969. The site was assembled by the Rev A S Postance in the 1920s and housed a private school known successively as Hilltop Court, Homefield Court and Belvedere School.
