This collection consists of sketchbooks and scrapbooks of the work of William Harold Hutchings covering the period 1906 to 1960. Having lived in Liverpool before the First World War he served in the Royal Army Medical Corps between 1916 and 1918 and many of his sketches during this period are of military personnel and scenes in Europe. Hutchings subsequently lived in Northwich, and among his work are a number of sketches produced to accompany articles in the Northwich Guardian during the 1940s and 1950s |
