Tetton was a residence of the Dyke family. On the death of Thomas Dyke it was passed to his daughter Elizabeth, wife of Sir Thomas Acland (7th Bt). After the deaths of their son (Col John Dyke Acland) and his wife Lady Harriet Acland, it passed to Lady Harriet's younger grandson Hon Edward C H Herbert, son of the 2nd Earl of Carnarvon. After the deaths of Hon Edward Herbert (1852) and his son Edward (1870), the property was inherited by Hon Alan P H M Herbert, son of the 3rd Earl References to the property are often found in the family correspondence of its owners and their relations; this section principally covers administration estate papers |
