Title: PARISH OF HOLLINGTON ST JOHN THE EVANGELIST
Description:

The ecclesiastical parish of St John the Evangelist was formed on 22 July 1870 from the ancient parish of Hollington and was enlarged in 1902 taking in a northern part of the parish of Hastings St Mary-in-the-Castle. The church was built in 1865. Two chapels of ease of St Mary-in-the-Castle, St James Silverdale and St Peter Baldslow, were transferred to the parish of Hollington St John the Evangelist following the boundary changes in 1902 (see PAR 535 and PAR 536). The chapel of ease of St Peter and St Paul was opened in 1970.
