Founded during the mid-1890's by Henry Woolcott (d.1921) of the Liverpool firm of Snowball, Lewes, and Woolcott, 41 North John Street. Woolcott's practice in the West Kirby area was extensive: in the Gore's Street Directory for 1920 he was, for example, described as a "solicitor and commissioner for oaths, and manager Bank of Liverpool and Martins Ltd., at West Kirby, and Clerk to the Calday Grange Grammar School". Between 1908 and c.1970 the firm's offices were at Dee Lane, West Kirby. During 1982 its practice was taken over by the West Kirby office of Maxwell, Entwistle, and Byrne. |
