Fishing vessel crew agreements 1886-1913. 14 boxes The P.R.O. is preserving a ten per cent random sample, which includes a number of Boston ships, varying from year to year. The National Maritime Museum has received on deposit the remaining records for 1861, 1862, 1865, 1875, 1885, 1895, 1905, and records of unregistered ships for all years. Records remaining after extraction of local records are to be preserved in Newfoundland. These will inevitably include a significant number of records for ships registered at Lincolnshire ports, for the lists of official numbers compiled from the Port Registers, were found by experience to be incomplete. The time available permitted only partial selection, and it was thought best to concentrate on obtaining good coverage for runs of years at the beginning and end of the period, and for a few years in the middle. |
