Delivery of moneys. (4s paid for the accustomed offering on the day of the Dedication of the Church of Stratford; 6s 8d paid to Margaret Salford by the grant of the Guild; 3s 4d paid to Robert Thorne by the grant of the Guild; 11s 8d paid to Roger Frost by the grant of the Guild; 12d for parchment for the rolls and indentures for the time of the Account; 16d for a lock called a "clyker lokke" for the door of the garden in the Hall of the Guild, and for four keys called "clyket keyes" belonging to the said lock for the Chaplains of the Guild; payments for roofing the Almshouses; 26s 8d paid to Peter Warde, one of the Chaplains of the Guild, when he bought two "coopes" of gold cloth for the Chapel of the Guild.)

 

Repair of the houses

 

Necessary expenses. (Expenses incurred about making "le deskys" called "sedelis" in the Chapel of the Guild, and for making "la halywatir stokes.")

 

Repair of the houses. (Repairs to the kitchen in the Chapel of the Guild; a "cache" made for the door of a "prevey" in the Hall of the Guild.)

 

Costs about the new tenement in the High street. (Two windows with "gredyrenes" of iron, &c.)

 

Expenses of the Feast. (Payments for veal, pork, "maribonys," and "sywet"; for beer bought from divers persons in the town when the beer in the Hall of the Guild was finished, &c.)

 

Necessary expenses. (Expenses incurred in the Hall of the Guild on divers occasions with the consent of the Master and Aldermen : about Thomas Middleton, Esquire, his wife, Matilda Hugford, and others, for bread, beer, wine, and ether victuals; about William Lucy, Esquire, his wife, the Rector of Bishop's Hampton, and other Brethren and Sisters "ad comedendum gallinam" in the Hall; payments for bread, wine, &c.; about Ralph Nevill, Baron of Oversley, in the Hall, and other expenses in the house of John Mayell.)

 

Cost of the light. (Wax, &c., for the light of the beam before the High Cross in the Church of Stratford, the light of the beam before the Altar of the Blessed Mary and St. John the Baptist in the same Church, and the light of the beam before the High Cross in the Chapel of the Guild, and for other lights in the chancel and in the Chapel of the Guild; wine for the Chaplains to celebrate mass; oil for the lamp in the Chapel; 12d for a "wyndynge cloth" bought upon the death of John Botiller, who had lived in one of the Almshouses; 6d for 1lb. of wax bought to burn about the said John.)

 

Allowances. (For hoods given for the profit of the Guild to the wife "de la Parker de Fulbroke," William Morgan, Esquire, Henry Smytht, of Shipton-under-Whichwode, Nicholas Hunt, of Long Compton, William Warner, of Brode Campeden, and Thomas Huband, Esquire.)

 

Expenses in the country. (Expenses incurred in the country "ad receptionem" of the Brethren and Sisters for the time of this Account, namely at Evesham, Bokelond, Bradwey, Campeden, Schepiston, Blokley, Stowe, Pylarton, Lythorn, Derset, Lapworth, Byrmyngeham, Kynges Norton, Reddich, Fekynham, Intebarow, and Alcestre; expenses incurred at Henley when the King's Escheator was there; expenses incurred at Coventry when Sir William Mountfort, Knight, and others, the King's Commissioners were there; for mending the clock in the Chapel of the Guild; for a staircase (scala) made anew; for canvas; for two cartloads of wood bought to burn about "le plaster.")

 

In the total are allowances for money granted by the Guild to Margaret Salford; for money paid to a man working nine days in pulling down a house in Grenehulstrete; for 4s paid to the cook of the Chaplains for a "toga"; for "napornys" bought for divers persons at the Feast of the Guild; for 16s 8d the fines (or fine) of Thomas Wyldeblod because he cannot raise it: for 3s 4d for a hood given to John Smyth, "Taylour," in reward when he had finished "le plasterynge" of the new tenement at the corner in the High Street, &c.)
