At this court, Thomas ap Richard ap David tack from Sir John Bourchier, lord Fitz waren and lord of the lordship of Whittington, by lease of William Headen the lord's steward (supervisor), a messuage called y maerdy and land belenging to it (late Meredith ap William) in the townships of Porkynten and Daywell, for a term of 24 years, at 5a 4d rent, reserving to the lord all oaks growing on the said messuage and lends - after the said term, he and his may held until it may be let to the lerd's grester profit; his expenses and cests to be settled by arbitration. Entry fine £4 payable in two instalments by Thomas and £4 by Meredith; due services
