Catalogue description Shade Lane/Grundy's Lane/Eaves Green

Three submissions (CPOs 52, 53, 54) relating to this area were presented in December 1979. The first was for housing at Eaves Green and Grundy's Lane and the second for industrial development at Shade Lane. It was then considered that if these two developments were to go ahead there would also be a need for a district distributor road between Eaves Green and Wigan Lane. An inquiry into these proposals was held in March 1981 and approval given for housing development at Eaves Green. The other proposals were rejected.
