History: | Born c 1747 at Mildenhall, Suffolk. Son of Henry Case, a solicitor. He was admitted to Christ's College, Cambridge in 1764. He gained a BA in 1769 and an MA in 1772. He was ordained a deacon at Ely on 8 June 1772 and was rector at Ladbroke, Warwickshire (non-residential) from 1790-1808. He married Helen (Ellen) Morewood (nee Goodwin), widow of George Morewood, esq. (last male Morewood heir) on 7 Feb 1793 and took the surname of "Morewood" by King's sign manual. He resided at Alfreton Hall and died there on either 13 or 21 June 1825 and is buried in Alfreton Church with his wife and her first husband's forebears. |
