Laban Art of Movemeny Guild was founded in 1946, based on the work of Rudolf Laban. In 1958 it moved from Manchester to Addlestone in Surrey. In 1975 it was renamed Laban Centre for Movement and Dance, moving to London. It was renamed Laban Centre London in 1997. Laban Centre merged with Trinity College of Music in 2005, forming Trinity Laban.
