History: The Co-ordinating Committee was established in September 1985 "to consider and determine various issues relating to the present functions undertaken by Tyne and Wear County Council", which was to be abolished in April 1986. Membership comprised the leader and deputy leader of each of the District Councils that had been covered by TWCC.
