The files contain correspondence with the British Transport Commission, the British Railways Board, London Transport Board, Thomas Cook and Son Ltd and the Transport Holding Company.

Matters covered include: structure, powers and responsibilities, board appointments, industrial relations, railway workshops, capital investment, finance, pensions, race relations and the use of railway land.

This series contains some re-registered files from the WRG series (otherwise in MT 140) and from the LP series (otherwise in MT 135).
