This series consists of Ordnance Survey files relating to local government boundary changes in Scotland following the Ordnance Survey Act 1841. The Scottish boundaries correspondence was superseded in 1940 with the introduction of a new system of county files, although a few items were still being added until 1971.


OS 30/1-19 relate to Scottish counties (arranged alphabetically), OS 30/20-223 to other local government areas in Scotland (arranged alphabetically), and OS 30/224-247 is a set of files containing miscellaneous correspondence.
