Transport Charges Consultative Committees
This series consists of the proceedings of special committees, appointed by the Minister of Transport to consider applications from transport undertakings for increases in rail, road, etc. charges in London and elsewhere.
These committees were formed of permanent members of the Railway Rates Tribunal (later the Transport Tribunal) to advise the Minister of Transport at his request on applications from transport undertakings for increases in charges.
The committees conducted inquiries into proposed increases and advised on the best means of increasing charges on road, rail, dock and canal charges.
