The predecessors of Master Samuel Augustus Mason Satow (1899-1925) in his role as a Master/Chief Clerk were Master Henry Francis Church (1866-1898) and, for causes with initial letters G-K, Master Alfred Hall (1852-1873); and for causes with initial letters L-N, Master Robert William Peake (1852-1886).
