Title: Cartae Miscellaneae.
Note: 24 volumes containing a collection of 6578 deeds, mainly taken by John Caley, from the Ancient Deeds (Ancient Deeds B) of the Augmentation Office (E.326). The documents are mainly private grants to monastic houses, or grants relating to property acquired by monastic houses. Included are a number of royal grants, letters patent and indentures, ecclesiastical documents, mainly on appropriations of churches and on tithes and notarial instruments. Included also are a number of manorial rolls, or extracts therefrom, accounts, particulars, and for the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries documents concerning the administration of the Courts of General Surveyors and Augmentations and the Augmentation Office. None of the documents have seals as they were removed by Caley before they were bound. The twenty-four volumes are briefly calendared in Cartae Miscellaneae, Calendar and Index Locorum 2 Vols.
