These are two mixed entry books for the counties of Lancashire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Cheshire.

Includes the 'quietus' for these counties for 1656 to 1660. The 'quietus' are notes to the effect that the accounts of particular crown officers are quit. They are in the form of a state of account, showing the charge and discharge of the accountant with the total due to the Crown, followed by text written diagonally across the page setting out the debt, any allowances and payments and concluding that the accountant is quit. These are usually in English after 1732.
