6 items extracted from FO 50/109 (folios 129-130). Mexico; Texas (now in the United States of America). 3 MS charts and a lithographed copy of each. (1) and (5) Chart of the Rio Bravo del Norte (i.e. the Rio Grande), from Matamoros to its mouth: showing place names, proprietors, observations, roads. Reference notes in Spanish. Scale: 1 inch to 1 mile. (2) and (4) 'Galveston Bay 1837'. (3) and (6) Chart of the Brazos Santiago and the coast as far as the Rio Grande, showing place names, soundings and roads. Scale: 1 inch to about 1,240 yards. Compass indicators to all items. (3)-(5) drawn by J T Crawford, 1837; (1), (2) and (6) subsequently copied from these in transfer lithography by L J Hebert and printed at the Lithographic Establishment, Quartermaster General's Office, Horse Guards, October 1837. Inset to (2) and (4): 'Buffalo Bayou from Houston to Harrisburgh [now Harrisburg]'. Map sizes between 83.8 cm x 75.7 cm and 44.5 cm x 64 cm. Items 3-5 originally enclosed in Consul Parkinson's [despatch] number 24, 10 July 1837.
