Papers relating to Crown grants and warrants, legal agreements made by government departments, and other matters referred to the Treasury Solicitor for advice or litigation. Much of the material relates to the sale, purchase or lease of land and buildings, including a large series of documents relating to the Ranelagh Estate in Surrey and Middlesex. There are also records about significant naval and military developments and inventions.
