Military; Fires; Disturbances. Eleven letters concerning the South Wales mining districts. Five letters to M Phillipps from Colonel Love at Carmarthen reporting on that state of the Monmouth and South Wales district. A letter from Love requesting that authority may be given to the Ordnance Office to hire a building, named the Angel Inn, at Cardigan for the accommodation of the officers and men of the detachment placed in that town. A letter from Love requesting the occupation of Newcastle Emlyn Workhouse by the troops. A letter from Love reporting on the evaluation of the Newcastle Emlyn Workhouse. A letter from Love reporting on the burning of a barn at Tregaron. A memorial from the guardians of Newcastle Emlyn Union regarding the military occupation of the workhouse. A memorial from the magistrates residing in the neighbourhood of Newcastle Emlyn regarding orders for the removal of troops from the town. |
