Description:

This series consist of four rolls containing enrolments of leases and grants from the Exchequer Pipe Office.

Enrolments of Crown leases by letters patent under the Exchequer Seal for 32 and 33 Elizabeth l, and enrolments of leases of recusants' lands for 1657 - 1658. Also included are enrolments of grants of various offices connected to the Pipe Office, including the Clerk of the Pipe himself, the Controller of the Pipe, the Surveyor of Green Wax and the farmers of post-fines. Often the officers' deputations of their deputies will also be found enrolled. Other offices found are the Warden of the Fleet, Serjeant at Arms and Serjeant of Trumpeters, as well as various commissioners for auditing and lighthouses. There are also enrolments of grants of farms of the greenwax, post-fines, etc; and of incorporation of some the City of London companies.
