This series consists of general policy files, and monthly reports of the Water Resources Board, with some Bill papers. The policy files are concerned with advising river authorities on the development and use of water resources throughout England and Wales. Many files concern meetings with other government departments and outside and international bodies. There is material relating to regional studies of water resources in the North West and in South Wales and the Midlands, and to projects to investigate the possibilities of desalination of water. The series also includes a set of minutes and papers of the Natural Environment Research Council. One piece (AT 3/259) dates from 1938; the remainder of the series dates from the 1960s. |
