Letter from Joseph Lowndes, Clerk to the Guardians of the Wolstanton and Burslem Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Board, replying to their query of 26 February 1852, 2821/1852, on statistical information for half year ended Michaelmas last. A fuller detail being that the gross number of paupers relieved for Wolstanton parish, was 639 of which 6 relieved both in-door and out-door, giving a net total of 633. The figures for Burslem parish were 1005 gross net 1000 with 5 relieved both in-door and out-door. For irremovable the gross total was 524 of which 5 relieved both in-door and out-door, leaving a net figure of 519 persons relieved, and the total persons relieved and included twice being 16.A duplicate statement is enclosed [not included].
