Walter PFITZINGER, alias CLERGYMAN: German. From a Mennonite religious background and an Alsace-Lorraine separatist political one, PFITZINGER refused military service in France, fled to Germany, joined Abteilung IV of the Gestapo in Brussels and was decorated twice; meanwhile his Belgian-born wife and family were living as refugees in England. After the war he fled to Switzerland and was condemned to death in his absence by a Belgian court
