Folios 117A-119A. Letter from John Kirkland, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union, to the Poor Law Board, acknowledging receipt of their letter of 13 August 1856 with regard to the 'Diets for Children'. The completed form is enclosed showing the diet in use for children under 9 years old along with the ingredients for liquid foods and puddings. He has been unable to ascertain the date of the guardians meeting when the diet was decided, but it has been in operation for some years.
Also includes a pre-printed form showing a table with the diets for breakfast, dinner and supper, for children under 9. Signed by William Barrow, chairman of the guardians and Mr Warwick, Medical Officer.
Also includes a pre-printed list with the exact ingredients for broth, porridge and puddings. Signed by John Kirkland.
